Terms of Use for the NorthSync QuickBooks Connection
Effective date: September 28, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when a NorthSync client connects their QuickBooks Online company to NorthSync. NorthSync is owned and operated by Mykal Petersen, a sole proprietor in New Liskeard, Ontario. By connecting, you agree to these terms. Your engagement letter with NorthSync continues to govern the bookkeeping services themselves; if these terms and your engagement letter conflict, the engagement letter wins.
2. What the connection does
The connection lets NorthSync’s bookkeeping systems:
- read your chart of accounts, vendors, customers, tax codes and transactions, so entries use your accounts correctly; and
- record transactions and journal entries, and attach supporting documents, on your behalf as part of the services in your engagement letter.
NorthSync does not use the connection to move money, pay bills or change your QuickBooks subscription or users.
3. Your responsibilities
- Connect only a QuickBooks company you are authorized to connect.
- Give NorthSync complete and accurate documents and information.
- Review the reports NorthSync provides and tell us about anything that looks wrong.
4. Disconnecting
You can disconnect NorthSync at any time from QuickBooks Online (your account’s connected apps settings) or by emailing mykal@northsync.ca. Once disconnected, NorthSync can no longer read or record anything in your QuickBooks company. Disconnecting does not by itself end your engagement letter.
5. Your information
Information NorthSync receives through the connection is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, including the service providers we use and our use of AI tools.
6. Services, not advice
NorthSync provides bookkeeping only. We do not provide tax, legal or investment advice, and nothing recorded through the connection is a tax return or a filing.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, NorthSync’s total liability for any claim relating to the connection is limited as set out in your engagement letter, and in any case to the fees you paid NorthSync in the 12 months before the claim. NorthSync is not responsible for problems caused by QuickBooks Online itself, by Intuit, or by information you provided that was incomplete or inaccurate.
8. Changes
We may update these terms and will post changes on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to stay connected after a change means you accept it.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
